IFC VISIT BIM GROUP, AWARDING EDGE CERTIFICATE FOR PARK HYATT PHU QUOC PROJECT

On August 12, 2022, at BIM Group's office (Hanoi), BIM Land Vice Chairman Le Minh Dung and Chief Financial Officer Bui Thi Thu Ha received the EDGE green building certìication for the Park Hyatt Phu Quoc project from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank.

In June, the luxury project Park Hyatt Phu Quoc Residences (Phu Quoc) was announced to be qualified for the IFC's EDGE green building certification. The certificate ceremony took place more than a month later, on August 12 at BIM Group's office (Hanoi), with the participation of IFC representatives including the new Country Director – Mr. Thomas J.Jacobs, Managing Director of global EDGE – Ms. Corinne Jane Figueredo and associates. This certificate was officially awarded to the representative of BIM Land - a member of BIM Group.

At the meeting, Ms. Corinne Jane Figueredo, EDGE Global CEO highly appreciates and recognizes BIM Group's efforts to achieve EDGE commitments in projects in Phu Quoc, Ha Long, and Laos. In particular, the Park Hyatt Phu Quoc project has been recognized for its efficiency in saving 24% of energy, 49% of water, and 28% of construction materials. Previously, in April 2021, InterContinental Residences Ha Long Bay also obtained the Preliminary EDGE certificate and is in the process of completing the EDGE Final certificate. She believes that this achievement will contribute to the sustainable development of BIM Group in particular and Vietnam in general, and at the same time help improve the tourism industry, increase career opportunities for local people, and minimize the impact of carbon emissions in the future.

In the course of the event, Ms. Bui Thi Thu Ha - BIM Group's Finance Director also shared about the Group's orientation on sustainable development in which green building and sustainability are at heart of the irrefutable movement of the global real estate market. Vietnam is no exception to this: “We believe that a viable business brings long-term, sustainable values to all of our stakeholders. We have chosen the EDGE green building certificate to pursue a green and sustainable tourism business, with our commitment to bringing the best values to the environment and employees. And I am proud that after the InterContinental Residences Ha Long Bay project, Park Hyatt Phu Quoc is the second project that we have achieved the EDGE certificate.”

“Besides sustainable business activities of the real estate and renewable energy industries, CSR activities are also part of the sustainable development strategy that BIM Group pursues and commits to. Hopefully, in the future, we will continue to effectively use natural resources and bring living values to the community” - Mr. Le Minh Dung - Vice Chairman of BIM Land's Board of Directors shared.
